Learn about Port Lincoln’s indigenous heritage on 26 January 2026

Cultural knowledge-sharing experiences that honour and celebrate First Nations cultures.

On 26 January 2026, as part of Australia Day, the community is invited to take part in cultural knowledge-sharing experiences that honour and celebrate First Nations cultures.

Four guided experiences will operate at 9.00am, 11.15am, 1.30pm and 3.45pm. Departing from the long vehicle parking bay opposite the Services SA building on Tasman Terrace, participants will visit culturally and historically significant sites across Port Lincoln and sample some contemporary cultural bushfood tastings.

The experiences will be facilitated by Emmalene Richards, Owner and Storyteller of Maba Idi Cultural Tourism, Consultancy & Arts. A Barngala/Nauo/Wirangu woman, Emmalene brings strong cultural knowledge and local connections, sharing stories and insights that encourage reflection and cultural understanding while connecting guests with Country on this important day.

The experiences are free to attend; however, seats are limited and registration is essential.
